Gui Hua Osmanthus Oolong is a traditional Taiwanese oolong tea created using the classic technique of flavouring with fresh osmanthus flowers. During production, the tea leaves undergo standard processing stages, after which they are mixed with natural flowers, which gradually impart their aroma. This method preserves the pure taste of oolong and gives it a soft, natural floral-fruity profile, making osmanthus oolong one of Taiwan's most recognisable flavoured teas.
Origin and technology
Gui Hua Osmanthus Oolong originated in Taiwan as a result of many years of practice in flavouring tea with natural flowers. Production begins with the harvesting of mature Camellia Sinensis leaves, which undergo withering, partial fermentation and heat fixation. The leaves are then layered together with fresh osmanthus flowers.
During gentle heating, the flowers release their natural aroma, which is gradually absorbed into the structure of the tea leaves. This traditional method produces a pure, natural aroma without the use of artificial additives and creates a balanced flavour that combines the depth of oolong with the sweet floral notes of osmanthus.
Flavour profile
Gui Hua Osmanthus Oolong is a tea with a soft, rounded and naturally aromatic character.
• Aroma: floral, sweetish, with notes of apricot, peach and light honey.
• Taste: clean, smooth, with a soft fruity sweetness and a smooth body.
• Texture: silky, smooth, slightly creamy.
• Aftertaste: long, delicate, floral-fruity, with a warm, soft finish.

How to brew
To fully reveal the flavour of Gui Hua Osmanthus Oolong, it is recommended to use water at a temperature of 90–95°C.
• Gaiwan or Yixing teapot: 5–6 g per 100–120 ml, short infusions.
• Western method: 3–4 g per 300 ml, 2–3 minutes.
