This rare red tea is crafted from the very first spring buds of wild tea trees growing high in the mountains of Yunnan — a region often called the cradle of ancient tea culture. More than two thousand years ago, the legendary Tea-Horse Road crossed these very slopes, carrying tea toward Tibet and distant western lands.
Harvesters select only the dense, silver-tipped buds — the ones that appear first after winter’s rest. In old Yunnan villages, these early buds were seen as symbols of spring fortune and were offered to the mountain spirits. Even today, locals say that “the first red infusion of the year brings luck to the home,” and bud-only teas remain part of these traditions.
The buds undergo gentle fermentation, revealing their natural sweetness and depth. The infusion is amber-red, thick and velvety, with notes of honey, dried fruits, and a soft wild woodiness characteristic of ancient, untamed tea trees. The taste is warm and smooth, with a long, sweet finish reminiscent of sunrise over mountain terraces.
Red Buds of Spring Fortune is more than a tea — it is a quiet moment of connection to ancient pathways, to the first breath of spring, and to the timeless rhythm of the southern mountains.
